Prince Philip visits Photovoltech

(Tienen, Belgium - March 5 2010) On March 2nd 2010, Photovoltech had the privilege of welcoming Prince Philip, the Crown Prince of Belgium.
The visit of Prince Philip fits in with a series of visits dedicated to Belgian companies that are active in the field of renewable energy and sustainable development.
Prince Philip was given a guided tour of the factory by Johan Nijs, General Manager of Photovoltech. Following the tour, a round-table conference was organized, where Prince Philip and Photovoltech were joined by several other actors and experts from the sector, as well as the Minister-President of Flanders, Kris Peeters.
During the round-table discussion, emphasis was placed on subjects including the impact of renewable energy on our society, the development and technical evolution of materials used in PV, increasing the use of Belgian and European products on the European market, the support of the market of renewable energy by the government and what the future will bring for this young and continuously growing market.
The moderator of the discussion was André Oosterlinck, rector of honour of the KULeuven and chairman of the Association KULeuven. He is the founder of several spin-offs of the KULeuven and is also on the Board of Directors of several organizations and companies, as well as being scientific advisor to King Albert II of Belgium.
Photovoltech was very honoured to welcome Prince Philip and we remain convinced that renewable energy will gain more and more importance in the future in Belgium.
